Frequently asked questions

Do I have to install anything to use Informer GO?

No. The browser version is always available at your Informer server's /go address. The desktop and mobile apps are optional, and add things like separate App windows, SSO sign-in, and push notifications.

Can I sign in with SSO in the browser?

Single sign-on is available in the desktop and mobile apps, which hand off to your identity provider securely. In the browser, sign in with your Informer username and password.

I forgot my password. What do I do?

Choose Forgot password on the sign-in screen. You'll receive a verification email with a link to set a new password. If the email never arrives, contact your Informer administrator.

Does Informer GO work offline?

Informer GO needs a connection to your Informer server; your data, Apps, and chats live there, not on your device.

Can I be signed in to more than one Informer server?

Yes. Each server becomes a saved SessionA signed-in connection to one Informer server. Informer GO can hold several sessions at once and switch between servers without signing out., and the session switcher in the top navigation jumps between them without signing out. See Working with multiple servers.

How do I get the desktop app updated?

It updates itself. The macOS and Windows apps check for updates automatically and install them in the background.

Where did my conversation go?

Every chat is saved in the Chats tab, grouped by recency and searchable from the top navigation. Chats sync through your server, so a conversation started on your phone is waiting on your desktop.

Why do chats sometimes answer faster or slower?

Chats run on a Model tierA quality level for the AI model behind a chat: Everyday for fast, lightweight tasks, Advanced for challenging multi-step work, and Strategic for the most complex jobs. Higher tiers reason more deeply; lower tiers respond faster and use fewer credits.: Everyday responds quickly for lightweight tasks, Advanced works through multi-step problems, and Strategic reasons most deeply (and takes the longest). Depending on how your organization configured AI access, you can change the model from the chat's Choose AI Model control. See Choosing the right model.

What file types can I attach to a chat?

You can attach virtually any file. Images (PNG, JPEG, GIF, WebP) go straight into the conversation; documents and data are processed so the chat can read them: PDF, Word (docx), Excel, CSV, JSON, Markdown, and plain-text files including HTML, XML, YAML, and source code. See Giving a chat context.

I renamed a chat. Will it rename itself again later?

No. A new chat names itself after your first message, but the moment you rename it yourself, automatic naming backs off for good and your title sticks.

Where do scheduled prompt results go?

Into the chat itself: each run posts your prompt and the AI's answer into the conversation, and a push notification goes to your mobile device. If notifications are off, the answers still accumulate in the chat. See Prompts on a schedule.

Why is there no AI credits bar in my profile menu?

The AI credits this month bar appears when your organization meters AI usage. Organizations with unlimited or enterprise AI plans see a different display, or none at all; no bar means credits aren't something you need to track.

Why can't I build an App?

Building requires the Admin role and Strategic-tier AI access on your usage profile; an Informer administrator grants both. If the build option shows a lock that mentions the Apps module, your organization's license covers Magic ReportsA simpler kind of App built on Datasets and Ad Hoc Queries. Magic Reports are available to every Informer tenant; full Apps (with server routes, databases, and messaging) require the Apps license. but not full Apps; contact sales@entrinsik.com about the Apps license. See Building apps.

What's the difference between an App and a Magic Report?
