Copilot in classic Informer

The same AI that powers Informer GO is built into the classic Informer web interface as Informer CopilotThe AI helper built into the classic Informer interface. It opens in a panel and offers context-aware help for whatever you are working on, like writing a SQL query or a calculated field.: a help panel that understands what you're working on.

Opening Copilot

Look for the Copilot button while you work in Informer. Click it and the Informer Copilot panel slides in alongside your page.

It knows where you are

Copilot is context-aware: it reads the surface you opened it from and tunes itself to the work in front of you.

Where you areWhat Copilot offers
Native SQL editorHelp writing and fixing SQL for that Datasource ("Help me write a SQL query for this Datasource")
Calculated fieldsHelp building field expressions
Power ScriptsHelp writing and debugging scripts
Dataset designerGuidance on structuring the Dataset you're editing
Template editorsHelp with layout and content

Each surface even seeds the conversation with relevant suggested prompts, so you can click instead of typing. Moving to a different part of Informer starts a fresh conversation tuned to that surface, so answers stay on topic instead of dragging context from your last task.

What it can and can't do

Copilot is tuned for focused, in-context help rather than open-ended chat:

  • It can search the web for current information.
  • It uses the tools of the surface you opened it from.
  • It doesn't take file uploads or Assistant selection; for the full experience (Assistants, Datasets, libraries, Toolkits, scheduling), use chats in Informer GO.

Closing the panel ends the conversation; it starts clean next time.
