Security setup

Security setup begins by creating Users and Teams, then assigning Users to Teams, and finally sharing Datasources, Datasets, and Reports as needed.

Sharing Datasources​

Sharing a Datasource gives Users and Teams query access to it. Share Datasources with Users or Teams when they need to:

  • Run Ad hoc Queries
  • Create Ad hoc Queries
  • Create Datasets

Roles​

A User's role within a Team restricts certain actions. Informer provides predefined role types with sensible access rights. These articles explain each role's access:

Job Creation​

Job creation and scheduling are top-level permissions. Grant a User access to create Jobs or schedules:

  1. Go to the Users page.
  2. Double-click the User.
  3. Click Edit Permissions.
  4. Check Job Creation.
