Security overview

Informer 5 addresses security and data governance through a Teams security model. The Teams model grew out of experience with customer security needs and best practices for security and data governance, and it emphasizes ease of setup and maintenance while providing a robust security structure.

The Teams model helps organizations answer security and data governance questions such as:

  • How do I know I can trust the data?
  • How can I make sure that only authorized people can see the data or parts of it?
  • How can I ensure the quality of my data and keep it from becoming unwieldy?
  • How can I track usage statistics on my data?
  • How can I have traceability of key business decisions?

The model ensures that access to sensitive data is secure, accurate, and current, and that access and interaction are based on determined security settings, so only those with access rights can alter the queries behind the data.

Teams map to an organization's data structures and provide an intuitive model for securing data and access. They make it easy to determine why specific Users or Teams have the rights to perform actions or access content, which makes auditing system usage and content straightforward. Teams also enable collaboration among members to support cooperative workflows.
