Adding a local User
Adding Users lets others log into Informer. You can add Users inside Informer, or from a domain so they can sign in with network credentials.
Only Users with Super User access can add new Users inside Informer. To add one:
- Click + New and select User.
- Fill in the required information on the New User screen. Required fields have an asterisk.
- Click Save.

The fields on the New User screen:
- First Name (required): the User's first name.
- Last Name: the User's last name.
- Display Name (required): the name shown when the User logs in or leaves comments.
- Email Address: the User's email address.
- Username (required): the username used to log in.
- Password (required): the User's password. After the first login, the User can change it.
- User Type: Normal User or Super User. Normal Users have no special privileges outside Team-based roles and security, and most Users are Normal Users. Super Users can view all content (including all Fields in a Datasource) and modify any Datasource, Dataset, Report, or Job.
- Enabled: allows the User to log in.
- Reset password on login: prompts the User to reset their password on first login.
The User can now log in. If there is a default Team, the User is automatically a member of it; otherwise the User has no permissions until added to a Team.
Also available through the REST API
Everything on this page is built on Informer's public REST API, the same one the product uses, so your scripts and integrations can do it too. Developer reference: Users.
