Why U2 file Mappings are hidden by default
Informer hides U2-based file Mappings by default for two reasons:
- U2 accounts contain many files that hold no reporting data, such as directories of program source code, SAVEDLISTS, and HOLD files. If everything were visible by default, you would spend significant time hiding the files you do not need. Starting hidden and revealing only the files you want is faster.
- Scanning every file for its Fields is expensive. The scan takes several commands per file, so combined with the first reason, scanning everything up front would waste a lot of time. It is more efficient to make the files you need visible first, then scan those for Fields.
To make the files you need visible, see Hiding and unhiding Mappings.
