Using Libraries with Assistants
Once you connect a Library, you may have a large amount of files. An Assistant is a great way to sort through them and gain insights by asking questions.
Enabling AI on Library directories
For an Assistant to read your Library files, first toggle on the AI switch on the file or directory you want it to know about. This creates embeddings the Assistant can search; without it, the files are invisible to the Assistant.
Once indexing is complete, green checks and a chat bubble appear beside each indexed directory and file, confirming the Assistant can see their contents.
Asking an Assistant about your Library
To chat directly with an Assistant from the Library view page, use the chat bubble. This opens a new Assistant tab where you can ask questions about the Library and save the Assistant for future use.
Note: The Highcharts Skill is automatically added to an Assistant created by chatting directly from a Library.
Use case: a company policy Library
Imagine a Library of policy documents and training materials. Add it to an Assistant as Knowledge, and the Assistant can answer questions about company policies or provide training guidance based on those documents.
